Numa
About Numa
Numa is one of 4 puppies rescued from a neighbouring field. The siblings are all sweet-natured, gorgeous puppies who have stolen our hearts instantly!
The litter were born to a small kokoni-like female who was running free in the area of the sanctuary. We have since managed to catch her and she too is now safe at the sanctuary. She became pregnant by a neighbour's dog, a larger cross breed. The puppies spent their first four months in the neighbour's field with their mum and dad coming and going and Constantina supplementing their food.
Once we had space for the pups, we brought them to the sanctuary. We've been amazed by how friendly and calm they are already!
The puppies were all a little shy to begin and Numa is the most shy of the four. She's not fearful though. She wags her tail and will approach us for a stroke, she's just taking a little longer than her siblings to fully relax.
When the puppies are out in the yard together they play very nicely with each other. They are used to each other's company and have a respectful and friendly relationship.
We can't say for sure what size the puppies will be when fully grown, especially given that their parents are such different sizes. But Numa has pretty big paws so we're pretty sure she'll be at least medium sized.
