About Hope

About Hope

Sweet Hope makes us smile ☺️

Her name is perfect because her life starts afresh now that she’s with us and we are full of hope for her future!

Hope was found as a stray and taken to the pound. She is definitely another abandoned hunting dog... We know this for sure because x-rays have shown that she has pellets in her body from having been shot at. Unsurprisingly, she exhibits that slight wariness of humans that we see in most hunting dogs. She has not seen the best side of people…

That changes now and we’ve already seen a huge difference in this lovely wee dog!

Hope is very affectionate and will snuggle into us for a cuddle, closing her eyes and loving the contact. We call her “hippety hop” Hope because she does the funniest little jumps up and down with her front paws when she wants your attention. Just little hops on the spot without jumping up at us. It’s adorable!

Recently when we needed to dog test one of our young male dogs, we introduced him to Hope and they now play really nicely together. Hope is patient with the younger dog and lets him chew her ears and they run around happily.

Hope isn’t yet sure about toys and balls, she’s obviously never been played with before. Once she’s in a loving home she will grow in confidence and it will be so wonderful to see her learn to play.

This gorgeous girl is going to make a lovely addition to any family and with the right introductions could join a home with another resident dog.
