About Raffi

Raffi is one of 10 dogs that we rescued from an overcrowded municipal pound at the beginning of November. We caught sight of him in a kennel on his own at the back of the pound. He was peering over and wagging at us from a distance. We were told that he’d been bullied by some of the other dogs and was now on his own.

This boy is a heartbreaker! Raffi melted all our hearts as soon as we met him. He is around 4 and a half years old and it’s very clear from his body language that he hasn’t seen the best side of humans. Despite that, he’s so loving and so gentle and once he is sure of your intentions he really loves to be made a fuss of.

Raffi is probably an abandoned hunting dog. He makes himself small when he approaches you, as though waiting to be reprimanded, maybe even struck. But he overcomes his nervousness because he really likes people. He’s met men, women and young children while he’s been with us and he’s the same gentle, loving boy with everyone.

When we let Raffi out of his kennel he always gets the zoomies and runs around in the yard at full speed ahead. He seems to be so happy to have the space to run around and be playful. He surprised us by happily running for a ball and even bringing it back. This gorgeous boy has a secret puppy inside and we’re loving seeing that playful side of him reveal itself.

From what we’ve seen, this sweet boy would be able to join a home with another gentle dog. As it's likely he has been trained to hunt we would recommend a home with no cats or other small furries.

He’s going to make a wonderful addition to any family!
