During hunting season in Cyprus, the social media posts about abandoned hunting dogs are constant! Constantina saw a post about a female dog that was friendly and wandering around on her own. Wanting to avoid the poor girl being poisoned, injured or becoming pregnant she offered to take her under the wing of SPDC. Fellow rescuers helped to pick her up and she came to the sanctuary in mid-January.

Sabina is a stunning dog with classic black and tan markings. She’s definitely a mix of breeds, but there may be some Segugio in the mix or Greek hound. Whatever she is, it’s a great mix!

This sweet girl is very friendly and affectionate and absolutely loves being made a fuss of by everyone that she meets. She particularly loves a belly rub!

Sabina also likes to play and run around, making us laugh when she gets the zoomies and dashes around in the yard… always stopping for a cuddle!

From what we’ve seen, Sabina is friendly with other dogs and with the right introductions we’re sure that she’ll be able to join a home with other resident dogs.

This lovely girl is going to make a wonderful companion for someone!
