About Casper
Casper is a beautiful dog with a statuesque build and a gorgeous shiny black coat. But he was brought to us in a very different condition….
At the beginning of April some adopters were on their way to the sanctuary to pick up their dog when they came across a skeletal dog not too far from the sanctuary. He was friendly and they were able to put him in the car and bring him to us. We were all shocked at just how thin poor Casper was! You could see every bone in his poor body and he had wounds on his knees indicating that he had been kept in a concrete cage and starved.
And yet… he was wagging! This sweet boy was as loving and friendly on that first day as he is today. He’s now playful and obviously more energetic, but he’s still always up for a cuddle!
Casper is probably a pointer cross, perhaps with some Segugio in the mix. He’s a hunting dog and as such will probably not be suitable to a home with cats or small animals. He does like other dogs though, and even goes out with one of our adult males who isn’t always keen on other males. Casper could definitely join a home with other resident dogs.
Casper is friendly to everyone that he meets. Despite his terrible start in life, this boys happy personality has not been affected and he’s just joyful and sweet!
