About Kintsu
On the 9th of May, Kintsu was thrown over the fence of the sanctuary as if he were a piece of rubbish. He was skin and bones, covered in ticks and dragging a chain weighing at least 10kg behind him. Two metal clips had pierced through the skin on his neck and the wound was already badly infected.
Kintsu's name is inspired by kintsugi, the art of repairing broken things beautifully. And he really has been repaired. He's a loving, clever, sweet and handsome dog!
Because the sanctuary was entirely full when he was dumped, we put Kintsu in the kennels with the smaller dogs. It's a testament to just how lovely he is that he was out and about with the smalls, both male and female, without any problems. He could definitely join a home with another resident dog, but would probably prefer a friend closer to his own size.
During a recent volunteer visit to the sanctuary, Kintsu impressed everyone by learning to sit and "touch" literally within minutes. This boy is clearly highly trainable and would have a great time learning new things.
