Agatha, her mum and siblings were saved from a life on the streets by a fellow rescuer. The mum was owned (and unwanted) by a hunter who agreed to allow the rescuer to take them in.

In an effort to help him out, we brought 4 of the puppies (2 boys and 2 girls) to the sanctuary where they settled in very well and are all thriving.

The puppies are all super friendly, confident and great fun! Segugio’s that we rescue are often a little shy, but this litter are happy, playful and affectionate.

Agatha is the smallest of the 4 puppies and is distinguishable by the white stripe down her front. She’s a curious and sweet-natured pup. When she comes for a cuddle she very often finds herself being pushed out of the way by a bigger and bouncier sibling!

The Segugio Italiano is a scent hound with a lot of energy and stamina. That means they need plenty of exercise to keep them physically and mentally fit. Brisk walks, trips to the dog park, and backyard scent games are all great ways to help them burn off energy. They also enjoy dog sports—such as agility, competitive obedience, and rally. Segugi are eager-to-please pups, which comes in handy during training sessions. Quick learners, they benefit from consistent positive training.
