About Iris

About Iris

Iris is such a beautiful, statuesque dog. She’s still just a puppy of just over 7 months, but you can already see the stunning dog that she will grow into.

Iris was born on Christmas Eve to a stray dog (Brownie) in a village. She had a difficult first few months until we rescued them as they were beaten and chased by some people I the village. As a result, Iris was understandably wary of humans.

Despite her slight fearfulness, Iris was always wagging. We could see that given time, love and gentle treatment, she would learn to trust us. She is now a lot more confident. The tail is still waggy and she will come for some chin tickles and head strokes. She still has a little way to go before she will be fully confident of people, but she will get there!

Iris is very well socialised with other dogs and loves their company. She has been great friends with the pointer brothers – Jasper and Ruben and now has another new puppy friend Aria. She plays really nicely with other dogs and would definitely be able to join a home with other resident dogs. It may even help her confidence if she has another dog to follow.

Iris’ mum Brownie is liver coloured German pointer. Although we don’t know who her dad is, she’s very much a pointer in energy levels and intelligence. She will continue to blossom in a home environment and will be so rewarding to be the one to provide her with the safety and love that she needs.
