When Constantina saw a photograph on Facebook of a scared, skinny black dog who was living right by the side of the motorway she sprung into action. She knew that living where she was would be fatal before long so she took a trap and some tempting food to go and catch her.

Little Jess was terrified but, with the help of some animal loving locals, Constantina managed to catch her on December 15th and brought her back to the safety of the sanctuary. Jess only needed a few days to begin to show us her true self… a loving, loveable and playful puppy!

Jess loves other dogs and it was the other dogs and puppies at the sanctuary that probably speeded up her recovery. Within 3 days she was wagging away and now, a month later, she’s so happy in the yard with her doggy friends. She also comes to us for cuddles and strokes and is more relaxed with every day that passes.

This gorgeous pup has a really lovely nature. She loves to play with other dogs and would definitely be happy joining a home with another resident dog. She will need some time to learn about living in a home and walking on a lead. But she’s a clever, adaptable dog and we think that she’ll settle in no time. Jess will make a lovely addition to any family.
