About Olive Livvie
Olive was at the Sanctuary for over a year when finally her luck changed and one of our amazing foster homes, offered to give her the chance to live with them and get to enjoy the joys of living in a home with a family.
Livvie (her new nickname which suits her perfectly) has been in her foster home in Devon since the beginning of December 2024, and she's blossoming. She absolutely loves her foster brother and couldn’t think of anything better than zoomies in the garden and play fighting all day! Livvie would love to live with another friendly dog (or two) who can continue showing her the ropes.
Livvie is extremely clever and has learnt to ‘Sit’ and go ‘Down’, there are plenty of tricks still to teach her and we think she would happily pick these up, especially if food is involved. She absolutely loves her food and gets very excited for breakfast and dinner.
If you didn’t know, she was the Sanctuary’s Queen of belly rubs and would often lay down for visitors to give her a belly rub. She loves a belly or back scratch and will probably give you kisses and licks at the same time! She has so much love to give and is the sweetest girl.
One of Livvie’s biggest challenges is her nervousness of the lead so she will need a family who can work with her on this. Her foster family are working hard to create a positive association with leads and have made lots of progress. At the moment, this means that she gets her exercise from garden play, the occasional secure field visit (though these are still a bit scary to her), and mental brain stimulation. We know with hard work, it will pay off and eventually she will learn a lead isn’t scary at all and is the key to exploring the world and having a lot of fun!
Livvie has made so much progress in her foster home and is looking for a forever home who can continue to be patient with her to allow her to build her confidence around leads and live the fullest, bounciest, happiest life. Given that she can be a little bouncy, she would be better suited to a home with older dog savvy children. If you think you’re that home for Livvie, get in touch.
